Sat. 9/28/2019 12:30-3 PM Smokey Bear lecture In celebration of the wildfire-prevention mascot's 75th birthday in 2019, a speaker will discuss the bear's evolution as well wildfire-fighting in Southern Nevada. Museum event
Sat. 10/5/2019 9 AM-5 PM Stuff a Truck fundraiser Friends will collect donations of re-usable used goods in upper parking lot at Springs, then truck to Savers, to be paid a fee based on the poundage of the donations. (All donations must fit in a box or bag – No bicycles, furniture, appliances, baby gear such as car seats or high chairs, etc.) Collections end 3 p.m., but volunteers needed until 5 p.m. Friends event

Sat. 10/26/19 2-4 PM Nevada Then & Now “NV's Governing Principals: List, Miller & Sandoval Look Back.” Three former governors who live in S. Nevada will discuss their memories & conclusions about leading state government. Friends event
Sun, 11/17/19, 1-3 PM Group art class & fundraiser Doors open 12:30 p.m. Class at Pinot's Palette in Boca Park shopping center is for beginners & experienced painters alike. All equipment & materials provided to paint a holiday image titled “Old World Snowman” on a 10″ x 30″ wood board. Cost is $45/person (drinks extra). A portion of proceeds goes to Friends of NSMLV.
