The museum offers a range of opportunities for volunteering, always taking the volunteer’s interests and skills into account.
YOU are needed – please volunteer for an event in 2018! Museum Director Dennis McBride has asked the Friends for this help.
Volunteer times, as indicated in the pull-down,
usually begin a half hour before the event’s start
and end 15 to 20 minutes after the event is over.
CROWD SOURCING – CARD CATALOG PROJECT:
At the drop of a hat, you can assist the museum by transcribing index cards from the museum library’s card catalog. Use your smart phone or a home computer with Internet service. Do it for a few minutes, or longer if you like. Every bit helps. To get started, watch this video, or go directly to www.nsmlv.org/omeka:
THE MUSEUM’S GREATEST NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS IS IN TWO AREAS:
— volunteers to staff the front desk in museum’s lobby (even for a two-hour span)
— volunteers to help run the museum’s classroom for walk-in families and school groups
If you would like to volunteer at the front desk or in the education department, please contact the Friends at info@nsmlv.org.
