The museum offers a range of opportunities for volunteering, always taking the volunteer’s interests and skills into account.

EVENT VOLUNTEER:

YOU are needed – please volunteer for an event in 2018!  Museum Director Dennis McBride has asked the Friends for this help.

Volunteer times usually begin a half hour

before event’s start and end 15 to 20 minutes after event is over.

Welcome Desk Volunteer, July 21 – Aug 1, 2018
Welcome Desk Volunteers are needed to staff the Welcome/Information Desk in the lobby of the NV State Museum LV. Volunteers greet all people who enter the building, providing a positive first experience, and provide information about upcoming events, how to contact the library staff, general directional questions, and membership information. You should be comfortable standing or sitting for periods of time, and be willing to help during busy and slow periods. A one-hour orientation needs to be completed before you volunteer. Fill out the following form to sign up for a training session and volunteer shifts.
CROWD SOURCING – CARD CATALOG PROJECT:

At the drop of a hat, you can assist the museum by transcribing index cards from the museum library’s card catalog. Use your smart phone or a home computer with Internet service. Do it for a few minutes, or longer if you like. Every bit helps. To get started, watch this video, or go directly to www.nsmlv.org/omeka:
